Family Update

Well, since the last time I updated the blog, a lot has happened. Kaylin started the 2nd grade and she loves it. She is doing great so far, getting 100's on her reading tests. We are of course very proud. Kaylin has been spending a lot of time with her friend Charisma which is great. We are just a little sad that we are leaving and she has to say goodbye to another friend. Kaylin's birthday is coming up, which she is excited about, but I am a little sad because she will be 7 years old. I remember when I used to rock her to sleep, where does the time go.

I started babysitting a 7 month old. She is so adorable and such a great baby. She only cries when she is hungry or really tired. She is always laughing, smiling, and making funny noises. It is a blast having a baby around and it makes me think, but then I watch three 7 year old girls and change my mind.

We are starting to finalize our moving plans. We actually are moving in only 4 short weeks. So much to do, but I am doing good packing stuff so I don't have to do it the last minute. I think that it is finally hitting me that Pete is going to Alaska and will be deploying shortly after. It is scary and sad that he is going over there. Once we move, I will definitely keep up to date with the blog so Pete can see everything going on with us. Well, that's about it for now. Will post again soon.

Long Summer

Well, it has been a long time since I have made a blog post. Things have been busy, but some of it fun. Kaylin and I went to Charlotte in May for the race with my mom and dad. It was a blast and then Kaylin went home with Me Ma and Pe Pa for a month. She had a really good time there and got a good tan. When she came home we all went to six flags and had so much fun. Pete and I went on all the roller coasters and Kaylin had fun with Me Ma while we did that. It was a perfect day to go, it wasn't busy, wasn't too hot, and no lines for anything. We couldn't believe that there were basically no lines.

This past week, I have been watching a friends daughters. One of the girls was in Kaylin's first grade class, so they got along pretty well. They had their moments, but it was nice for Kaylin to have someone to play with. Starting next week, I will be babysitting a 7 month old and 3 year old. The 3 year old will just be here next week and then after that I will just have the 7 month old. It will be fun to have a baby around again.

Kaylin starts the 2nd grade on Monday and we are both excited. I cannot believe that she is in the 2nd grade already. She is really excited about going to school again and I love that she is so excited. The next 2 months will be busy because I am trying to pack and get things ready for the move. We are moving on September 27th (Kaylin's birthday), so there is so much to do before then. I need to pack very tight, so we don't have to get storage at my mom and dads. I am excited about moving, because we will be able to save money and get bills paid off.

Well, I guess that is enough for now, but I will update more then I have.

Another Week Gone

Well, another week has gone by. These days seem to be flying by, I can't believe that it is April already. This week was a good week. Kaylin was behaving in school, until she got in trouble for playing in the bathroom. She was punished and she promised not to do it again. She made the Honor Roll again, we are just so proud that she is doing so well in school. She also loves schools, he told me tonight that she wished she could go to school on the weekends. I laughed and told her that she wouldn't have any days to stay home and play. I found out from her teacher today that Kaylin likes to finish her sentences. Her teacher finds it kind of amusing.

Last night Pete and I went to the Army Ball. We had a great time. Kaylin stayed with our friends neighbor and then stayed the night at our friends house. Our friend brought her to school this morning, so we didn't have to pick her up at 11pm last night. The Ball was nice, the food stunk and the DJ was horrible, but I was able to dance with Pete. It has been a while. It has been a while since we have had a night out alone. My feet are still bothering me from the shoes, but it was worth it to have a night out.

Today, Pete and I went into Kaylin's class and taught them how to make flowers out of their handprints. Her teacher implemented a Friday Art Club. Parents will go in and teach an art lesson. It is a lot of fun going in and helping them have fun. It really makes me realize why I want to become a teacher. Pete is playing soccer tonight, so it is just me and Kaylin. She told me she was tired, so she is going to go to bed soon. I think I am going to relax and watch a movie until Pete gets home around 11 tonight. Tomorrow we are going to decorate eggs for Easter and try to go outside. The weather has been awesome here, but the pollen is horrible. Kaylin's allergies have been bothering her again and so have mine.

Well, I will write again soon.

Saturday's Events

The day started out good. Kaylin had her soccer game this morning. It was really cold, but only because the wind was blowing so bad. Kaylin's soccer team, The Lions, won the game 2-1. So far they are undefeated for the season. The kids are so funny though and they have a blast playing. With the exception of the bad referee, it was a good game. After the game, I ran into the store to get some stuff for tonight. We are having some friends over to watch the UFC fight. I don't really enjoy watching UFC, but my friend Erika will be here, so it will be fine. Plus, it is just nice to hang out with adults and another woman. I need girl time.

Kaylin's allergies are bothering her again, but I don't want to give her the prescription medicine, because it makes her act really weird. Benadryl it is. Tomorrow we aren't going to do much. We are hoping it is nice, so maybe we can go outside and play. This weather down here is so weird and I am ready for the summer, but not the hot days. Will post again soon. Bye!!!!!

First Blog Post

Hello everyone, here is my first blog post for our new blog. Me and Kaylin got back Sunday from spending a week at my mom and dad's. We had a great time there and miss everyone already. Kaylin got to do so much while we were up there. She got to ride on Pe Pa's fire truck, which was great. I also rode on the truck. She is so proud of her Pe Pa and that he is a fireman.

Kaylin also got to ride a horse. The horse's name was Sassy. She was a beautiful horse and Kaylin had a blast riding her.

We were able to go up to Virginia Beach and see our friend's, the Klingeman's. It was great to see them, but it made me realize that I thought I missed Virginia Beach and living there when I really only miss the people. I don't think that we will move back there, so we are going to sell the house.

Kaylin is doing great in school. She got her report card today and she has straight A's again. We could not be more proud her. She has gotten straight A's this whole school year. I am still trying to figure out where she gets it from. Kaylin is also still playing soccer. She really loves it and it wears her out completely. Pete and I are going to the Army ball next Thursday. I am excited, it should be fun. I think that it is the first time that we are going out alone in about a year.

Well, that is about it for now, but I will post again soon. I am really glad that I started to do this. I hope everyone enjoys.
