It's Been a While

Well, it has been a long time since I last posted to my blog. There is so much that has happened between then and now. Me and Kaylin are now living with my mom and dad in North Carolina. Pete is stationed in Alaska and he was deploying, so he didn't want for me and Kaylin to be stuck up there alone without anyone for support. It has been a crazy change, but everything is going good. Kaylin is going to Ahoskie Christian School and she loves it. I love it also. It is a small school, so the classes are small and there is more chance for one on one. She has a great teacher who we are going to miss next year, but we will still see her everyday. Kaylin is doing good on her report cards, honor roll all year. She is now having some trouble with Math, but we are hoping she will do good on her last test. Her class has been on a few field trips that include, the aquarium, pumpkin patch, a local play, local college art studio, limo lunch ride, the Coast Guard Air Station, and the library. She has enjoyed all of them. Here are some pictures throughout the year.








Now some more about everyone else. We all had a good Christmas, except for Pete not being here. Over Christmas break, we took Kaylin to New York City for her first time. She had a blast and wants to go back very soon.

Now for some sad news. About a month ago, our small town of Colerain in Bertie County, NC was hit by twin tornadoes. They hit about a mile from our house. We consider ourselves lucky, because they were headed straight for us, but they turned at the last minute. Our county lost 12 people from those tornadoes, including friends. I have had a few friends that were significantly affected by the tornadoes. They have no house left and lost everything. Everyone is strong though and we are starting to recover from the horrible events on April 16th. The worst part is that now every time a storm comes, everyone is scared and watching out the windows. We really hope that nothing ever happens like that again here. Kaylin is terrified of storms now and wont go to bed if it is raining. Here are a few pictures of some of the damage.







Well, I guess that is about it for now. We have a busy few weeks coming up. It is the last 3 weeks of school, then Kaylins friend from Alabama is going to come and stay with us for a week. Then my niece will be here. In July, me and Kaylin are going to Florida for a week to see my best friend. And I am also taking Kaylin to Universal Studios, it will be her birthday present. Well, I will talk to everyone soon.
